Stephanie Hernandez

Hi, my name is Stephanie and I am from Sylmar—a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley of northern LA. As one of the mentorship co-chairs (along with Ariana and Michelle!) I will be developing opportunities for aspiring physicians to receive and sustain mentorship. This year I am excited to collaborate with the MEDPEP at UCLA program to help propel forward the next generation of physicians caring for the underserved. Currently, I am coordinating the Transplant Surgery Interest Group (TSIG) at DGSOM, serving as an anatomy TA, and working on research in topics such as SDoH impacts on liver transplant outcomes and diversity in the surgical workforce.
